Welcome to Orkney Archaeology Tours
We are the only tour company in Orkney to be run entirely by professional archaeologists who are also accredited Orkney Tourist Guides, holding the coveted Green Badge awarded by the Scottish Tourist Guides Association.
We are a partnership run by our tour leaders - see our about us page - who live and work all year round in Orkney and have an in depth knowledge of Orkney’s archaeology, cultural traditions and history – as well as knowing all the best places to see seals!
We specialize in small-scale exclusive holidays and tours of Orkney, concentrating on the wonderful archaeology but also showing you as much as possible of our beautiful islands.
We offer a choice of all-inclusive one-week small group Orkney holidays, private short breaks, including our 4-night Orkney Adventure and 6-night Orkney Odyssey, and private day tours. We don't just cross sites off a list - we give you an all-round island experience.
Our 2010 holidays are all fully booked but we are taking bookings for our 2011 holidays
Our tours are carbon neutral - we offset all our carbon emissions and have an ecotourism policy in place to ensure we minimise our carbon footprint.
ORKNEY is an amazing group of around 70 magical islands situated off the north eastern corner of Scotland, between the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea. Orkney has it all - beautiful scenery, wildlife, endless skies and wave-washed shores - and is especially famous for its spectacular archaeology.
We not only have the heart of Neolithic Orkney World Heritage Site - consisting of the Neolithic village of Skara Brae, Maeshowe chambered tomb and the amazing henge monuments of Brodgar and Stenness - but also well over a thousand known archaeological sites, not to mention Orkney's many other attractions: the magnificent 12th century St.Magnus' Cathedral, Scapa Flow, the Italian Chapel, the Churchill Barriers - the list is endless.
Why not come and see for yourself on one of our relaxing holidays or private tours?
