7-night, 6-day 'Orkney Adventure' Holiday

On our 7-night, 6-day 'Orkney Adventure' holiday we spend four days concentrating on the many attractions of Mainland Orkney and the linked South Isles, reached by crossing the Churchill Barriers.

Also included are full day visits to the islands of Rousay and Hoy, reached by a short ferry ride.

'Orkney Adventure' Itinerary

Saturday Day 1: arrive at your hotel in time for dinner.

Sunday Day 2: Mainland Orkney - around Scapa Flow to the Earl’s Bu and Round Kirk, Skara Brae, Skaill House, Kirbister Farm Museum, the Ring of Brodgar and Stones of Stenness.

Monday Day 3: Mainland Orkney - Rennibister Earth-house, Cuween Cairn, Maeshowe, free time in Stromness, the Earl’s and Bishop’s Palaces, St. Magnus’ Cathedral.

Tuesday Day 4: Island of Hoy - the Martello Tower & Hackness Battery, Lyness Naval Museum and the Dwarfie Stane.

Wednesday Day 5: Mainland Orkney & linked South Isles - free time in the morning, then Mine Howe, the Churchill Barriers, Italian Chapel and St. Margaret’s Hope

Thursday Day 6: Island of Rousay - Taversöe Tuick, Blackhammer and Midhowe Cairns and Midhowe Broch.

Friday Day 7: Mainland Orkney - Brough of Birsay, Earl’s Palace Birsay, Barony Mill, the Broch of Gurness and Corrigall Farm Museum.
